We are very happy and honored to have "taken over" the annual hanging of the American Flags around town. Howard and Eileen Stiles have been doing this for years with quiet satisfaction, but it was time for them to pass this honor on. The flags are hung at specified sites before Memorial Day, and taken down after Veterans' Day. Unfortunately, they see a lot of wear and tear during our summer months, and we will be refurbishing, replacing, and making presentable the flags before they are hung. Anybody interested in assisting with this project is urged to call Kathi Jones @ 207-655-3635. We will be stitching our fingers to the bone this winter.
We are in talks with the Lions Clubs surrounding (literally) Sebago Lake to hold a walkathon between the clubs, rather like a relay to raise funds for local and global outreach. More to come.......
We are again sponsoring our Lions Club scholarships. The amount to be awarded has yet to be determined and depends on the generosity of folks who donate cans and bottles to our collection sites.
