 LIBRARY SERVICES AND POLICIES 

 



 Library Services

  • Interlibrary Loan Service - If a book, audio or dvd is not in the library collection, patrons may request the item at the circulation desk and the item will be requested from another Maine library. This service is FREE. There may be a $3.00 postage charge for materials that are not readily available.

  • Patrons must pick up materials requested within 5 days or a $2.00 fee will be attached to their record.

  • Copier - available for patron use at 20¢ per page.

  • Fax Service - $2.00 for the first page. $.50 page for each additional page.      

  • Computer - Go anywhere in the world with our free Internet access or use basic office programs. Walk-ins are welcome, or call ahead to reserve your time.

  • StorytimesBaby/Toddler Playtime on Mondays at 10;30am:  finger-plays and songs for children up to 3 years old; Preschool Storytime on Wednesdays at 10:30am: stories and movement, followed by a craft/activity for children 3-5 years old.

  • "Libraries Are For Babies, Too" is designed to introduce parents with new babies to the library's resources and to provide a chance to meet with each other. Each family receives a small tote bag containing a board book for the child and a book on reading to children for the parent.

  • Maine Wildlife Park - In Gray. The library has a free pass; call for information.

  • Casco Library - Raymond and Casco libraries offer borrower privileges to the residents of both towns with no fee. The Casco library is open Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday, 10am.- 8pm.

  • Telescope - Available to borrow. Call for information. 

  • "We Are Here For You"  - The Raymond Village Library is happy to pull materials for pleasure or research and to assist in database instruction in order to assist you in finding the most reliable information. Contact us. 

 

Lending Policies  

    Borrowers

  • No fee for library card

  • Parent or guardian registers for children under age 16

  • Borrower cards valid for 1 year
     

    Circulation Periods

  • Two week circulation period

  • Renewals in person, phone or email. Patrons may also request an id and pw at the desk so that they can renew books and check books borrowed history

  • Outside book drop

  • Interlibrary loan (ILL) time determined by the lending agency

  • Special circulation periods for high demand materials
     

    Overdue Materials

  • Donation jar for late-return library materials.

  • Lost or Damaged Materials: lost items charged retail value; damaged items charged according to the extent of damage
