Below are questions that have been posed regarding the RFP for the Provate Sector Management of Raymond Beach.

How is trashed handled?
In the past, the Public Works Department has been willing to coordinate with the beach manager to pick trash up as long as it was bagged and ready for curbside pick up by 7:00am.

What is the traffic count for that area?
We do not have specific traffic numbers for that area, but on peak weekends with nice weather you could expect to have every spot in the parking lot filled and some where around 100 patrons.

Is there electricity on site or are generators allowed?
Yes, there is an outlet box on the rightside of the site but it is controlled by the Rotary Club and you would need their permission to use it. However, we require that vendor operations be on the left side of the site away from the boatlaunch, which is away from the electrical hook up. Electrical hook up can be routed to the site at the cost of the applicant.  With past managers, we have allowed the use of a generator but its use would have to be compliant with State regulations and adhere to allowed uses with within the Shoreland Zoning.

If something happened and someone got hurt on the beach whose responsibility is it?
In the event of an injury at the beach, the Town's insurance would be responsible unless it is related to the operations of the vendor. This is why we require quality insurance to protect both parties.

How would be handle someone that is drinking liquor on the beach? How much authority do we have regarding this?
In the event of alcohol consumption and following the rules of the beach, it is up to the discretion of the vendor. If you feel that you can comfortably remind patrons of the rules, you are welcome to but you should call the Sheriff in the event that a situation has escalated beyond that point. The Town does not want the vendor to put themselves at risk when the Cumberland County Sheriff's are able to respond to the situation.
